Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office Initiated an Investigation on Individuals in a Video on Social Media

The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation resently on Engin Polat, Alper Kürşat Polat, Hazal Erdoğan, and Dilan Polat who filmed a video, following the notifications received regarding the video shared on social media.

The individuals have been issued with a detention order for the crimes of ‘purchasing, accepting, or possessing drugs for personal use’ by the prosecution.

In a statement made by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, the following expressions were included:

“Due to the content of the video in question and similar notifications received, a resen investigation has been initiated by our Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the individuals in the video under the scope of TCK 191.

After a detailed examination of the video, it has been determined that the individuals are Engin Polat, Alper Kürşat Polat, and Hazal Erdoğan, and the person who filmed the video is identified as Dilan Polat. Therefore, the necessary legal actions have been taken for the crimes of ‘Purchasing Drugs for Personal Use’, ‘Accepting or Possessing Drugs’, or ‘Using Drugs’ by issuing a detention order for the individuals.”
